The annual Walking Weekend up at the Brathay Estate near Ambleside is scheduled for the weekend of September 10th 2010.

Adam and Alex Watts will be hosting another Family Sports Day at their house on Saturday, August 21st. All members and their families are welcome to attend and compete. Individual events in the morning, team events in the afternoon and live music in the evening with a continuous BBQ all day.

Please note that the August Chairman’s Challenge has now been changed to August 27th so it doesn’t clash with the Family Sports Day on the 21st.

The end of the Summer Fell race league is drawing to an exciting close. It is great that many more Pensby members have had a try at fell-running than was expected. Due to injuries and commitments the Leader board is likely to continue having unexpected front runners and the final result is in doubt until the last race. More experienced fellrunners can also look forward to a new Winter league to be announced soon.

Don’t forget to come up with ideas for celebrating Pensby’s 25 Year Anniversary next year. The Barcelona Half Marathon Trip in February is going ahead and many are already signed up and have flights booked. Get your name down for it now.

Ian Chalmers is well into organising a London to Paris Bike Ride next year so if interested, contact him.

It has been suggested that Ellesmere Port will hold a Thurstaston Multi-terrain on August 4th but it now seems unlikely due to time constraints. You’ll be kept informed by email.
