Your running shoes are the most important part of your running kit. Whilst you can run in cheap shoes it is wiser to invest in good quality shoes which suit your feet and your running style. Go to a specialist sports shop rather than a ‘fashion’ shop where an expert can help you choose correctly. Two good local examples are:

RUNNERS SPORTS in New Ferry and NATTERJACK RUNNING CENTRE in Liverpool and Southport.

Below are many links to websites to help you select the style and type of running shoe you need according to what activity you want to do - training, racing, multi-terrain, cross-country, fell-running etc. and also according to your personal attributes. This information will allow you to have a reasonable idea of what you require when faced with racks of shoes in the sports shop.
