We always love to welcome new members, so if you’re interested in joining Pensby Runners we suggest that you come along to one of our training nights and ‘try us out’ first of all. We’re happy for people to train with the club for up to four weeks before joining or paying a casual training fee.
Tuesday nights are probably the best time to come for a first training session with the club. On Tuesday’s we usually have two groups going out at different speeds for runs of about 5 to 8 miles, and a group going out to do hill or interval training. We meet at the Heswall Squash Club just before 7pm and divide into groups there. The first Tuesday of each month we have our club handicap, which is either 5 or 7 miles and follows a set route. Be aware that if you’re coming on a handicap night, there will always be someone who can show you around the route but the runners expecting to go the slowest will start at around 6:50pm. Groups also go out from the squash club on a Thursday and Friday, and we have a morning run on Sunday – details are under the ‘Training’ menu.
