Ideas for charities to support are put forward by our membership each winter, and at the club’s AGM one of more of these are then ‘voted in’ as the year’s nominated charity(ies). The Wirral Seaside Runs, organised by members of the club, also make donations to local charities, including the Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse, who kindly lend us the lighthouse each month for registration.

Alison Wallace collects a donation from Gordon Scholefield, Vice Chairman, at the clubs AGM in January 2020.

In 2019 Pensby Runners and the Wirral Seaside Runs supported: The Wirral Branch of the Deaf Children’s Society (national website / local facebook). Alison Wallace from the charity came to our AGM in January 2020 to collect a cheque for £500 from the club, and earlier in 2019 the charity also received £500 directly from the Wirral Seaside Runs. Alison told our membership about the activities for deaf children on the Wirral that would be supported by the clubs donation. It was a pleasure to meet Alison and great to hear about the amazing work the Society are doing.

In 2018 we supported the Wirral Branch of the MS Society and the Wirral and North Cheshire Prostate Cancer Support Group.
