History:
Pensby Roadrunners was started in October 1986 by Peter and Jenny Chee and Fred and Beryl Mottram. There are about 85 members on the books at the moment. Originally based at the Fisher’s Lane Community Centre in Pensby there were no showers or changing facilities and a search was made for more accommodating premises. Heswall Squash Racquets Club has provided these facilities for many years now. The club name was changed to ‘Pensby Runners’ in order to reflect the whole range of running enjoyed by the membership.
Aims (from the Constitution):
To encourage the practice and development of running without distinction as to sex,
political, religious or ethnic differences. To provide a means of social recreation
for its members. To cater, as the need arises, for Road running, Road Relay running,

Fees:
Pensby Runners has an annual membership fee of £27 which includes use of the Squash
Club facilities -
Kit / colours:
There is a multitude of kits in evidence at all training sessions with the only requirement that runners are highly visible on the road. However the club kit is encouraged at all races and for many it is compulsory. The Club vest has a turquoise top half and silver/grey lower half, coupled with grey or black shorts. Pensby is emblazoned across it in black.
Affiliations:
Besides being affiliated to the Heswall Squash Racquets Club, Pensby is affiliated to the North of England Athletic Association and the Fell Runners Association.

Location:
The Club is based at Heswall Squash Racquets Club in a purpose built centre next to the Glegg Arms on the A540 at its junction with the A551 just south of Heswall on the Wirral, Merseyside. Enter the car park via Heswall Football Club behind the Glegg Arms.
