Pensby Runners compete in the North West Cross-Country League throughout the Winter. Races are open to all Pensby first claim members, you do not need to enter before and they are FREE. The club also compete in regional and national championships. For all the championship races runners do need to be entered by the club and a small entry fee is payable.
Members who wish to be entered for the championship races need to inform the cross-country captain (Gordon Scholefield) at the beginning of December.
The NWSCCL races are usually around 5 miles in length but the championship races are usually around 8km for the women and 12 km for the men. All NWSCCL races start at 10.00 a.m. The Championship races are usually on a Saturday and start at approximately 2.15 p.m. for the Senior Women and 3.00 p.m. for the Senior Men, exact times are always confirmed nearer the actual date.
